When we were preparing for the Junior 8 Summit and after, we have compiled most of our documents on this website. The J8 Summit tab in Useful Resources tab has all the resouces regarding past Junior 8 Summits. The G8 2009 tab has all of the official documents that were uploaded on 2009 G8 Summit website.

This tab has other documents that are not directly related to Junior 8 Summit itself or G8 2009 Summit. Take a look and we encourage you to read the documents. It will help you enormously.

  • 1992 Climate Change Convention
    • This document states what UNFCCC(United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) does. By the way, UNFCCC is the organization that ran the "Earth Summit" and drafted Kyoto Protocol and will draft Copenhagen Protocol this December. Download the file here.

  • 1998 Kyoto Protocol COP3
    • This is the official document of Kyoto Protocol. Download the file here.

  • The Challenge of Global Warming: Economic Models and Environmental Policy
    by William Nordhaus, Sterling Professor of Economics, Yale University
    • This is a 253 pages long document. The pages we used were from page 121 to 136. It talks about the advatnages of the Carbon Tax. It is an excellent essay and you will be compelled to carbon tax after reading it. Download the file here.

  • 2000 The Montreal Protocol
    • This is the Montreal Protocol drafted 2 years after the Kyoto Protocol, COP5. This document specifically mentioning each green house gases, and their restrictions. Download the file here.

  • The United Nations System
    • This document is a chart that lists in a classified order of all suborganizations and related organizations of United Nations. Download the file here.

  • CRC
    • CRC(Convention on the Rights of the Child) is a document drafted by UNICEF, which is embraced by the United Nations. This is the official document of CRC. Download the file here.

  • Doha declaration
    • This document is the Doha declaration drafted in 2001. It reaffirmed flexibility of TRIPS member states in circumventing patent rights for better access to essential medicines. Download the file here.

  • Emissions trading(cap and trade)
    • This is exactly same page as the Emissions trading(cap and trade) page in wikipedia. We have copied and pasted it, eliminated unnecessary parts and put it together so we can read it on paper. We hope this will help you. You can either download this file here, or visit the website here.

  • Plan of Implementation of the World Summit on Sustainable Development
    • This document is the first document that first defined the term "Sustainable Development". The word "Sustanable development" did come up 2-3 times before this document, but never was defined. Also, this document profoundly discusses how the citizen and governments of the world should act together in order to achieve "Sustainable development". Download the file here.
